EWOOTEC, a Korean power equipment manufacturer, takes charge of the underground system EWOOTEC excels in preventing human accidents by detecting underground-buried objects using magnetic fields

Underground excavation construction sites are always subject to the risk of accidents. A typical accident is an explosion caused by damage to underground facilities such as gas pipes. With the government's increasing interest in such disaster-prone areas, EWOOTEC, which developed a “management system” that can fundamentally cope with accidents related to underground burials, is drawing attention.
Founded in 1999, EWOOTEC implemented the management system after three years of starting a technology research on the field of underground burial detection with Sungkyunkwan University and KAIST. This system is a solution that detects the location of underground objects through GIS (Geographic Information System) and a magnetic field-forming material called 'Magnetic Marker', and then draws a map under the ground. GIS refers to a comprehensive information system designed to create and manage maps and geographic information using a computer, collect, analyze, and process the corresponding data to apply to all fields related to terrain.
The underground map drawn through this detection method converts the location, depth, and other attributes of the buried object into a database. And since it is transferred to local governments after the official examination of the survey results, accidents can be fundamentally prevented during various underground excavation works or maintenance.
EWOOTEC's underground burial management system using state-of-the-art surveying through satellite equipment and special materials is sufficient to act as a policy alternative that can fundamentally solve the risk of a disaster.
In addition, since it uses a magnetic sensor called Fluxgate for the first time in Korea, the detection error range due to high voltage line communication or metal materials is only within 5cm, so it is possible to draw the most accurate underground property map.
The CEO of EWOOTEC said, "Our management system is very valuable in various fields such as improvement of public administrative services, urban planning and disaster countermeasures, as well as significant cost reduction. We will grow into a global company that seeks substantial growth by reaping synergy effects through expansion.”
