Expanding the history of participation.. Kwangwoon completed registration of manufacturing Participating in production after completing registration of manufacturing of LPG container valves in Yangju City
Jul 12, 2021, 11:34
Kwangwoon, a manufacturer specializing in water hammer and fire-fighting piping equipment, will participate in the production of valves for LPG containers.
According to Kwangwoon, it has completed manufacturing registration for the production of overflow blocking type LPG container valves from Yangju City, Gyeonggi-do. Prior to this, Kwangwoon completed the registration of manufacturing shutoff function type LPG container valve.
Accordingly, Kwangwoon plans to apply for a design stage inspection for two types of valves after passing the completion inspection by the Korea Gas Safety Corporation, and if that is successful, mass production will begin.
An official from Kwangwoon said, "Safety should be the top priority for gas cylinder valves. In the case of an overflow shutoff valve, it is expected that it will pass smoothly as it is subject to on-site testing within the manufacturing inspection standards."
Subsequently, Kwangwoon is actively exporting to overseas as well as the domestic market.
The shut-off valve is the one that is obligatory to use through the revision of the Enforcement Rules of the High Act in 2006. Currently, Hwaseong Valve, Youngdo Industrial, Essentech, and Duksan Metal are producing shut-off function type LPG container valves in Korea.
The overflow shutoff type LPG container valve, which was created in accordance with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry's notification in 1994, was developed by Kwangdong Metal in 2006 and passed the design and production stage inspections of the Korea Gas Safety Corporation, but failed the field application tests and was not allowed on the market.
The overflow shutoff valve automatically shuts off the overflow gas when the gas hose is cut or disconnected, or when the regulator (or side conduit, twin hose) is disconnected from the vessel valve. In addition, the gas is automatically shut off in case the container is overturned due to an earthquake or the like. On the other hand, the shutoff type valve cuts off the gas only when the regulator (or side conduit, twin hose) is disconnected from the valve, but does not shut off when the hose is intentionally cut.
